Dear Steger School District 194 Families,

The PowerSchool Enrollment Portal will open tomorrow for new and returning students for the 2026-2027 school year on our website at www.sd194.org. 

Enrollment for Returning Students 

Tomorrow morning you will receive an email with a PowerSchool Enrollment code (snapcode) which will allow you to complete the enrollment process online. We are also sending the letter via US Mail with directions to register your returning student, and the snapcode, for filling out the information in the PowerSchool Enrollment Portal. If a child is currently enrolled in the district, they are considered a returning student, even if they will be moving to a different campus next year. For example, a current 4th grade student that will be attending 5th grade at Columbia next year is still a returning student. 

Residency Verification for Returning Students 

The district has partnered with a third party to assist with the residency verification processes. The district secretaries will only contact families that need to provide proof of residency. If you do not hear from them, there is no action to take. Contact will be by phone, email, or certified letter.   

Enrollment for New Students and Incoming Kindergarten Students

If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026, or they are new to our District, you need to complete the New Student Enrollment Portal on the website and upload the appropriate residency documents and birth certificate.  You can do this ahead of Kindergarten night which is April 21, 2026 at Steger Primary Center and doors open at 5:00 p.m. Doing this ahead of time, will help speed the process for you. 

However, if you need assistance, staff will be available on the 21st to help you complete the enrollment process. Please bring your child’s birth certificate and residency documents to this event if you are not able to upload them. Please click here for a list of acceptable documents.  

There will be two additional help days for enrollment and translators will be available. While you can now complete the entire enrollment process online, these dates are available if you need assistance.
