Steger School District 194 has named a new superintendent, Dr. David Frusher, who currently serves as Principal of Zion-Benton’s New Tech High School, in Zion, Illinois.
Dr. Frusher has been Principal at New Tech for four years. Previously, he served as Assistant Principal and later, Principal at Argo Community High School in Summit, Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Education degree from National Louis University in 2008.
He will replace Dr. Patricia Hahto, who will step down at the end of June as Interim Superintendent of the Steger PreK-8 District that serves roughly 1600 students.
School Board President, Michele Helsel, said, “Although we are saddened that Dr. Hahto will soon be completing her journey with Steger, we are excited about Dr. Frusher joining the 194 family. Dr. Frusher brings a lot of experience with him that will benefit the staff, children and families of 194. We are very excited for him to hit the ground running in July.”
Dr. Frusher said, “It is an honor and privilege to be the next Superintendent of Schools in Steger School District 194. Thank you to the Board of Education for this wonderful opportunity. Steger School District 194 has a committed community with exceptional facilities, high quality instruction, and a solid focus on student learning. I am looking forward to partnering with all district and community members ensuring that we are living our vision of Engaging Every Student…Every Day…In Quality Learning Opportunities. Go Cardinals!”
