Dear Steger School District 194 Families, 

We wanted to let you know about some changes to our registration process for the 2025-2026 school year. It is our hope that this new process streamlines registration for all families. 

The district will now be using PowerSchool Enrollment, making the process easier and providing quicker access to information.  

Registration for Returning Students 

Registration for returning students will begin Tuesday April 15. Returning students will receive a registration code in the mail and via email which will allow them to complete the registration process online. Directions to register your returning student, and the code for filling out the information in the registration program, PowerSchool Enrollment, will be included in the email/letter. 

Residency Verification for Returning Students 

The district has partnered with a third party to assist with the residency verification processes. The district secretaries will only contact families that need to provide proof of residency. If you do not hear from them, there is no action to take. Contact will be by phone, email, or certified letter.   

Registration for New Students and Incoming Kindergarten Students

If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025, or they are new to our District, you need to complete the new student registration form and upload the appropriate residency documents and birth certificate.  This form will be available on our district website at www.sd194.org starting on Tuesday. You can do this ahead of Kindergarten night which is April 22, 2025 at Steger Primary Center and doors open at 5:00 p.m. Doing this ahead of time, will help speed the process for you. 

However, if you need assistance, staff will be available on the 22nd to help you complete the registration process.  Please bring your child’s birth certificate and residency documents to this event if you are not able to upload them.  Please click here for a list of acceptable documents.  

There will be two additional help days for registration and translators will be available. While you can now complete the entire registration process online. These dates are available if you need assistance.

Monday           June 9, 2025  12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.       Location: Columbia Central School
