Steger School District 194 provides a full continuum of educational services and supports for students with disabilities who qualify under the provisions of the Individual with Disabilities Act (IDEA) or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504). Our goal is to support each student with a disability by addressing the student’s individual needs. The special education department is committed to providing services in the least restrictive environment. This commitment enables children to participate in and benefit from the general education curriculum as much as possible.

The continuum of services includes:

  • Consultation services
  • Push in support
  • Co-taught classrooms
  • Pull out support
  • Direct instruction classrooms

District 194 is also proud to provide the following direct or consult related services:

  • Speech language therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physical therapy
  • Social work services
  • Counseling services
  • Vision
  • Hearing
  • Audiology

Steger SD 194 is a member of the SPEED 802 Cooperative. SD 194 partners with SPEED SEJA to provide additional supports and educational placement options as needed.

We are excited to partner with families in their educational journey.
