Young Author's
Congratulations to 2nd grader Angelina Valente who will represent Eastview School at the 37th Annual Young Authors; conference on May 21 at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. More than 60 Eastview students wrote books for Steger School District 194’s annual Young Authors Program. In her book, Marie’s Secret, Angelina hooks her readers at the beginning of the story when something sad happens to the main character, Marie. Still, Marie creates a wonderful life for herself and manages to keep an unbelievable secret. The reader comes to find out that this story has a villain who has prevented Marie from many birthday celebrations but in the end helps Marie find happiness. Angelina has an exciting day to look forward to on May 21 when her book will be read, discussed and affixed with the official seal of the Young Authors’ Conference. She will interact with other young authors, educators and children’s authors. We are very proud of Angelina! Special thanks to Mrs. Dwyer, a member of the local Young Authors Committee who worked with all our talented writers.

Congratulations!
